Jacob traces his writing origin story back to the day his father took him to see Batman Returns… as a pre-schooler. The event was awe-inspiring, a bit traumatic, and absolutely unforgettable.

Growing up in Tallahassee, Florida, Jacob soon discovered a passion for sports, specifically football (this was the South, after all), then music, and later developed an academic interest in psychology and anthropology. Despite different aspirations and early-career turns, it was that “writing thing” that lingered in his brain like a tricky plot point. Begging to be resolved. So Jacob left his post-college job in New York City for the University of Texas at Austin, where he pursued an MFA in Screenwriting, gaining invaluable experience as both a film student and an undergraduate workshop instructor.

After grad school, Jacob moved to Los Angeles, cutting his teeth as a PA on shows like Real Husbands of Hollywood and The League. Off the lot, Jacob honed his craft as a freelance writer, editor, and copywriter, eventually landing a writing role on the CW show iZombie.

Today, Jacob brings his passion for writing into any project, whether it’s an episode of television, a debut novel, an online article, or a single line of copy. For Jacob, the job is always the same: tell the best story possible.
